Feeding the Calves!

It is so fun to watch your children get excited. Hunter and his friend Manning, who stayed with us for a couple days, got to go help a family friend feed his baby calfs. They were so excited and so cute when they were feeding the calfs. Hunter even decided to taste test the milk in the big bottle when mom and dad weren't watching. I wish I had a picture of that. It brought back old memories. Mike and I used to have two baby calfs. This was before I had Hunter, and I just loved bottle feeding and taking care of my babies. It was sad to have them grow up so fast.

Our new friend from Korea!

We have been very lucky to have an exchange teacher from Seoul, the capital city in Korea, staying with us. Her name is Hak, and she has been staying with us since Jan. 3rd and leaves on Feb. 18. We have had so much fun getting to know her and learning more about the Korean culture. She spends her days at the school here in Burlington working with the teachers in the elementary. She spent four months in Cody before she came to Burlington. When she arrived in Burlington one of her first questions was, "Where is down town?" I laughed and told her she was in the heart of it. She is so much fun, and Hunter loves playing with her when she gets home from school. He loves to play-"You can't catch me!" She's a good sport and chases him around the house trying to catch him. We will surely miss her when she leaves.

She gave us fans one night and taught Mike and I how to paint on the fans. We dipped a stick in ink to draw the picture, and then we used water colors to paint the picture. The paper is very delicate so we had to be very careful. This is a tradition in her country. They give them as gifts and write messages on the fans. When we were done with our pictures, she wrote our names and a messege in Korean. It was so nice and it reminded me of how much I enjoy doing art. I haven't really done much art since I was in high school. I think I might have to take up art again!

My sweet three year old boy!

I took some pictures today of Hunter doing just a few of his favorite things. He loves to read, and mom loves reading to him. He still likes to cuddle when we read, but he's starting to think that he knows how to read all by himself. He's becoming very independent.

He loves to have school time and is really getting good with the scissors.

He loves our dog (Whisper), but it was below zero today so I took a picture of him with her through the window.

He, also, loves dinosaurs and bathtime. He's even happier when he gets to combine the two!

First Blog!!

This is my first blog. Megan is teaching me how to do this. I am very excited to be a part of the blog world. I have enjoyed visiting everyone's blog.

We are in Tropic visiting family, and they received almost 3 ft. of snow. Hunter was anxious to get out sledding. They found a fun snow pile in dad's yard so away they went right out into the street. We had to keep a close eye out for cars. Damon said hardly any cars go down this road but as soon as they started sledding, about a dozen cars went by. Hunter had a blast sledding with his dad and fun memories were created.
Those big grins say it all. Fun!!!
